Trade Competitiveness of Palm Oil Export from ASEAN Countries

Aims: To study the competitiveness, import intensity and structural break of palm oil exports from ASEAN member countries to Indian market for period 2000 2020.
 Data Methodology: The relevant data was collected UNCOMTRADE 21 years (2000 2020). tools used analysis were Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage (RSCA), Import Intensity Index (III) Chow test.
 Results: revealed that Indonesia had lost its comparative advantage due differential tariff rates imposed by India between close competitor Malaysia. After 2011, index clarifies there a gradual decrease in imports Indonesia. However, Malaysia Thailand showed an upward trend till year 2018. 2018, Singapore intensity. From chow test, significant difference importing before after signing AIFTA (ASEAN- Free Trade Agreement).
 Conclusion: Considering India’s demand which is expected double 2030, so sustainable cultivation recommended balanced approach should be taken fix rate protect domestic producers refineries without compromising consumer demand.
